Magic Ball Parties: Apr 27 & May 17

Abracadabra-kalamazoo! Make your leftovers disappear!

Everyone has bits and bobs of scrap yarns lying around. Here's a way to make them magically morph into something amazingly beautiful and unique: Magic Balls! This popular technique combines scraps into one of a kind yarns to knit or crochet up. Classic Elite has several patterns and tutorials to get us started.

A fun way to play with color and texture. Great opportunity to let go and embrace random acts of yarnery wonder. Time to let your creativity out with abandon!

Magic Ball Parties: Apr 27 & May 17 from   2-4pm.

Bring all your leftover bits. Any size, color, type. We'll pile them on the table then get busy. You randomly pull off 2-3-4 yards from a ball, then tie it to another randomly chosen length. Wind it up as you go until there's enough - apx 250 - 400 g for a cowl or scarf (afghan for those of us deeply buried in leftovers & stash!). Then get busy to magically turn this rag-tag multicolored scrap ball into a fantastic object of unique beauty.

Gather your scrap and odd-ball yarns. Instructions and patterns provided at the party. Learn a few few techniques too: Russian-join or ht weave in ends as you go.....or no weaving for a wild fringe look.

Just want to get rid of your yarn? Drop it off and we'll put it toward our Charity Stash projects. Join us for magical fun! Magic Ball parties: Apr 27, May 17 from  2-4pm. Email or call to save a spot at the table.

We had a test run on Mar 29th. Piled up all our scraps on table and just wound like crazy. I couldn't stop!

At the end I had a super big ball of bold colors (of which I totally can't remember what colors are all in it) and then a smaller soft neutral ball. This one I cast on right away because I couldn't wait to see how it looked knitted up. Pattern is the feather and fan stole: super easy! Makes a great binge-viewing project.
