Class: Moebius Cowl

Head's up. Time for the Magical Moebius Class.

This is a one day technique class for the Cat Bordhi Moebius cast on. It's a trippy cast on (and I mean trippy) that creates a truly authentic moebius cowl. Not a faux moebius or a pseudo infinity cowl, but the real deal. A cowl that defies logic. It is thankfully not necessary to understand how it works. In fact...it's better if you don't ask "how" and just "do"!

We'll follow the recipes in Skacel's Fall 2013 Magalog. It's kind of a "choose your own adventure" pattern or recipe. The possibilities are endless.

You pick a yarn, grab some needles. Select from the various patterns suggested and cast on. Then you knit....and knit....endless rounds, circular loop-d-loops.

What's so trippy? The cast on is at the the middle of the cowl. Not the edge, but smack dab in the middle. You knit those first few rounds wondering what's what. Then eventually you notice that while you're always knitting the "right" side, the "wrong" side starts to magically appear....but you're never knit a wrong side.... spooky.

Really it's more like a mirror-image since that's what it ultimately becomes: right and wrong sides facing off over the center cast on point, or as Cat calls it the "equator." Remember....you don't need to know how it works....just how to do it. Believe me...it's easier that way. :)

Eventually when you run out of yarn (or you finally get dizzy), choose your cast off of choice and boom! A truly magical, perfectly  mysterious moebius cowl.
