Summertime Part 1

Days are hotter and the summertime transition is upon us. Our kids have a week left of school, we've already been hitting the pool regularly and frog jump is history. The shop filled with new goodies perfect for this time of year.

Knit Nights for Summer: We're making a change to our weekly gatherings starting in June. Shifting it from Thurs nights to Sundays 2-5pm starting June 8th. Come hang out and work on projects....or just come to hang out, knit then go home and rip back to fix mistakes (which is usually what we all do).

It's hard to institute a change but we hope our loyal friends of the past 4+ years can help keep our Thursday night tradition alive....just a couple of days later and a few hours earlier. Maybe new faces will join us! Sundays are nice-quiet, laid back, especially in summer. Once heat arrives it's always the coolest spot in town and plenty of places to eat dinner once we're done. I'd love to start up some targeted KALs so maybe we can all pick a project to do together. Come that first Sunday June and help kick around pattern ideas.

Last Thursday Night: May 29th
First Sunday: June 8th

Stuff on the shelves
Here's a quick peek of new goodies in the shop these past months. In future newsletters I'll expand a bit on some, but for now it's a down and dirty drive by preview.

Yarns: Most of our new yarn lines are in from our favorite vendors, plus new vendors too.

Loving these lines. Findleys are dreamy silk/merino with huge yardage in lace/fingering weight. Moonshine and Herriot both worsted & worth a mention. Yummy to knit with despite being bigger and warmer yarns.

New colors of our favorites-Maya,

new dk/sport weight versions of popular lines & perfect summer yarns

Mirasol's Nuna restock
wonderful bamboo, silk, merino blend with new colors-another perfect warm weather yarn

 Newest Magazines

Knitscene Accessories just arrived. Chocked full of some lovely projects perfect for gifts (never to early to start our holiday handmade projects!)

Noro Magazine #4

New Patterns and a Trunk shows: NNK Press: Never Not Knitting and Knitbot

Designers Alana Dakos and Hannah Fettig formed NNK Press and we've got their printed patterns and books. This also means Trunk Shows. June 1-22 come by to see a selection of 10 Never Not Knitting samples in person. Also on tap for future: Quince patterns too. NNK Press distributors for these awesome patterns and plans afoot to get them into shop in months ahead.

Botanical Knits 2 due in June

My new needle love: Addi Click Long Tips Set.

If you like Addi Turbos, these are same type of needle with a sharp tip like the Lace, but without the icky nickle finish of the Lace needles. Love Sock Rockets? That's what these are in bigger sizes. The set contains #4-11 tips. What I am truly in love with though? Not the super fast turbo-like speeds or the lovely pointy lace tips.....it's the amazingly ingenious SOS cables!

They make putting in a lifeline a snap! Just slip in your waste yarn and as you knit, viola! Lifeline done. Totally Cool Beans!

Addi Fans: Note we can order up any Addi brand needle, fixed or interchangeable. Just let us know and we'll get them in for you.

Summertime Part 2......coming soon! All about gifts and books....and favorite projects on our needles.
