Beep Beep Beep.... Incoming maisieblue newsflash....
Yes we're closing for a day during a holiday weekend but we have a very good reason. It's
Jordi's Sixteenth Birthday and we're closing up shop for some family celebrating!

First Ever Birthday Cake |
Birthdays are always a family affair so this year we're going to
celebrate bigly! Closing up shop for a quick get-away to do some fun
family with lots of being silly, eating bad food and playing lots of
games! Staying up too late, enforced shopping for shoes and lots of
laughter and memories.
Warning: I'm feeling nostalgic! Trip down Memory Lane Incoming!!

Binki Down! |

One of our first Mommy & Me selfies |

Cutie Patootie |

Who knew the Boppy was such a useful Accessory! |
Heck... He only turns 16 once so I'm going whole hog with the photos! Here's some of my favorite snaps of our beautiful baby boy who rapidly grew into a wonderfully mature young man.
Kindergarten arrived in a blink. He was ready and never looked back! He and cousin Mosey faced this milestone together and were together in class until high school.

First Day of Kindergarten: We got this Mosey! |
Then bam! It was Middle School years but The Bigs could still hang and be silly together.
I'd usually find photographic evidence of their selfies months later. I cherish the insight into their increasingly secretive middle-school world. I didn't even know we had a waterproof camera!
Became much harder taking our Mom and Me pictures at this stage. I'm usually telling him to stand still and take a photo for posterity through gritted teeth as I try to quickly snap a selfie!
Before we knew what happened, it was 8th Grade Graduation! Lucky us he was Valedictorian so we got front row seats at the ceremony. Sweet! As parents we were so nervous, but he was cool as cucumber delivering his thoughtfully articulate speech. Someone got all misty-eyed....and it wasn't just me! LOL

Papa and Grandma so proud of Jordi-Bug! |

Us and Kids with their "Grand" Auntie Barbara |
The High School Era pictures usually consist of me using stealth tactics to surprise...threats to coerce! I get a few good ones now and again. Often with an artistic blur. And he's taller. Much taller!
|
Reluctant Teen Portraits with Mom are now the Norm! "We''re taking a Selfie whether you like it or not!" |
|
|
|
"Mom stop!" is standard response now and artsy-blurred action shots typical |
|
|
Now it's the Driving Years. His Dad handles much better than I do. I'm a nervous-passenger at the best of times, so poor kid has me gasping from back seat, reminding him to slow down. One positive aspect: I can get non-blurry photos easier now. LOL
Happy Birthday Jordi! Can't believe these past 16 years flew by so fast. Dad and I are immensely proud of you! We love you so very much!!
