Summer Yarns Spotlight: Juniper Moon Farms

Grab any in this family of Italian spun cotton yarns when you want a super soft, lovely cotton? Grab any of these amazing Juniper Moon Farms yarns. Incredibly soft to touch and work with. Washable with a perfect touch of nylon to add "memory" to avoid the dreaded"cotton-stretch" (always good with cotton because it has no memory).

All three sizes covered = plenty of options for your specific pattern. Key is this is a super soft cotton, touch of nylon and machine wash/tumble dry no heat. Hence is suitability for all things kids!

Cumulus Family

Cumulus  Cumulus Dappled  Cumulus Rainbow  Cumulus Degrade

Four styles: solids, degrade, dappled multicolor and striped multicolor. All play nicely with each other to mix and match. Works up great for cozy sweaters for all ages. Kim's working on a Weekender in a lovely icy blue. We'll have a party when she finishes!

Nimbus  -  Nimbus Paints  -  Nimbus Stripes

Nimbus and Nimbus Paints  are the chunky version. In balls not hanks, so no winding needed. Instant Gratification at its best. (Which can be a bad thing if you have a cast-on problem.....ahem....). New this summer is Nimbus Stripes, a subtle striping multicolor.

Meet the Newest & Smallest Siblings: Cirrus & Cirrus Rainbow

THESE TWO ARE FREAKING AMAZING!!!! The same beautiful soft cotton but in a DK weight. Perfect for summer garments! For grownups! The thought of a heavier yarn in a summer sweater is a less appealing prospect. But make a DK weight summer Tee or Tank! Um...yes please!

The colors are lovely, soft and perfect. We have a shop sample of Andrea too. Uses both Cirrus and Cirrus Rainbow for a darling little Girls pullover. Pattern also available in a Mommy size version.

And yes....... We fully expect a new Sliding Is Fun aka Petite Version to cast on.... Once the mini Kendall finished! This DK yarn great for summer garments, Adult and Kids. Where the larger worsted - chunky weights bit heavy for our summers....Cirrus lines perfect for lightweight t-shirts, tanks or skirts.

PATTERN TRAWLING TIME.....

Need a fast baby gift? Sliding Is Fun is our grab-n-go project. 1 ball Cumulus, 1 ball Cumulus Rainbow and #8 or #9 needle. That's it. You'll be sliding your way to the perfect little stroller blanket. Hardest part: Choosing your colors. Bigger Blankets take about 4-6 hanks Cumulus or Cumulus Rainbow.

*Warning: Pattern is highly addictive. Shop owners not responsible for any future dependencies upon making multiple blankets, multiple times, for unknown as of yet unborn recipients.*

Seriously.....you'll be addicted!

Kendall

We love Kendall. Starts small and grows bigger. Center-out cast on, fairly easy pattern of knits, purls and occasional yo's rows. Bind off when you reach end or run out of yarn. Has enough pattern variety to avoid boredom. Fast to make and impressive to give with a comfy feel. An heirloom in the making. Just 5 balls Cumulus Rainbow. Feeling adventurous? Choose variety of colorways and thrown in a solid for contrast. End blanket stunning no matter which color path you follow.

This is bigger, chunkier baby blanket. It's another center-out cast on so easy to adapt size. It's written for 10 balls Nimbus. That's a ton! It's huge and h-e-a-v-y. Absolutely GORGEOUS! And huge.
We suggest using this pattern with just 4-6 hanks Cumulus for a smaller, lighter crib size blanket. Kim has working on a DK version using new Cirrus and loving how elegantly dainty it feels.

Cumulus Crochets Gorgeously

1. gradient granny 2. cloud flare 3. continuous crochet blanket 4. c2c blanket

Crocheted Cumulus blankets are truly wonderful! Mako Cotton yarn yields a soft, cushy, cuddly blankets....which can be hard to achieve with crochet, often a more dense, firm technique. Using any of the Cumulus et al lines sends project directly to "OMG this is amazing!!!" territory. The huge colorway selection means you can go crazy creating a unique, gorgeous blanket. On the Baby Blanket Scene: We suggest:

Everly

Frankie

Both designed for Berroco Vintage Baby yarn (sport weight/dk) but easily adapted to use worsted or chunky. Motifs make it easy to adapt to larger yarns. The super soft Juniper Moon Farms cottons just as lovely and washable.
